We aim to grow into a full-fledged news organization that produces original reporting on local issues that other newsrooms can’t or won’t cover. We will be hiring as soon as we can.

Here are positions we’ve identified so far to help us achieve our vision:

  • Development Director
  • Managing Editor
  • Community Reporter
  • Data Journalist
  • Newsletter Writer
  • Audience Growth Specialist
  • People who believe in the power of local journalism for community betterment

Interested? Drop us an email at stacy@boulderreportinglab.org.

Don’t want a job but want to support us or be part of our team in some other way? Please reach out as well!

A note about our hiring.

Crucial to our mission, vision and values is to reflect — in our newsroom and our coverage — the full diversity of our community. We especially encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to reach out/apply, including people of color, women, LGBTQ people and people with disabilities.

Not an experienced journalist? Not to worry.

Perhaps you have subject matter expertise in issues crucial to Boulder’s future. Or, you have a background in data analysis, technology, community organizing, digital marketing, design or any number of topics that have equipped you with startup skills. Or, the local media isn't working for you and you want to be part of building a solution.

Critically, we're looking for individuals who are eager to be part of this experiment — to help us build, from the grassroots up, a sustainable local news business that will serve and enrich our local community and democracy, and be a model for modern local journalism.
